Alex City Crusiers-offers all cars,trucks and bikes to meet every first Saturday from April to September on Hwy 280 in front of Walmart Super Center.. 6:00- 9:00PM 
Alex City Jazz Fest- annual 2-day festival in June, one night in downtown Alex city, one night on Lake Martin offers New Orleans style entertainment and music
Alexander City Sportsplex-baseball,softball,basketball,football,tennis,wrestling,
soccer,horseback riding,swimming,archery,dancing ,as well as hosts state,regional & national athletic touraments
Annual Fireworks & Celebration- spectators gather by boat & from Lake Martin Amphitheater,gates open at 3:00PM- bring coolers,picnic and lawn chairs
Annual Oktoberfest- offers food, fun and entertainment
Children's Harbor -offers free and confidental counseling and support to children with long term illness, provide camping and retreat facilities for these children and children with with special needs
Chimney Rock - offers island for boat stop where you can climb to various points on the rock and jump into the lake... one of the more popular sites on Lake Martin 
D.A.R.E. Power Park- offers recreation park featuring swimming beach,two large pavilions,13 picnic tables with grills, two fishing piers, boat ramp and amphitheater... located at Young's Ferry landing
Horseshoe Bend National Military Park- offers history brought to life through live history demonstrations, the only national military park in the state of Alabama, 2040 acre park...
located on Highway 49
Lake Martin Amphitheater- offers the Fourth of July Fireworks and Celebration, and Blast from the Past, and a variety of other events throughout the year... located on Hwy 63 near Kowaliga Bridge
Wind Creek State Park- offers a 1,445 acre park...... facilities with 642 sites,many are waterfront allowing campers to fish, swim, boat right from their back door,the largest state operated campground in the United States- facilities include marina, camp store,fishing pier,hiking trails,playground,picnic area with tables,grills,and shelters... located on Hwy 128

CANOE TRIPS:
Put in at Horseshoe Bend Park Boat Ramp(Hwy 49 Bridge) and go down river about five miles to Jay Bird Creek (which comes in on the left). To reach Jay Bird Creek by car from Horseshoe Bend - go south on Hwy 49 to right on Rock Springs Rd. ,then right on Boone Valley, continue to river.
Takes about 1.5 hours to canoe downstream
